A wedding-planning dream come true!

Planning a wedding in New York is tough when your mom is in West Virginia, your Maid of Honor is in Washington, D.C. and your Bridesmaids are in Maryland, Maine, and Florida!! These are the girls whose opinions matter the most, the ones you want to help you pick out dresses and make invitations and everything! Its been sad not having them here, having to communicate over the phone and sending pictures of dresses and flowers and hairstyles through email. BUT! I am SO excited - this weekend I will be traveling to West Virginia to my parents' house, and Meghan, my Maid of Honor, will be doing the same! Mom, Meghan, and I will be going wedding dress shopping together on Saturday and Sunday, which is something I never thought we'd be able to do! I am so so sooo happy to be able to go with my mom AND my maid of honor, together! This is the way its supposed to be!! I am SO excited!! :-)

We're going to go to Davids Bridal in Altoona, PA on Saturday and Alfred Angelo's in LaVale, MD (I think?) on Sunday. The camera was messed up last time I went shopping with Michele, so we didnt get pix that you can actually see, so Ill try on lots of dresses this weekend and get photos of all of them! Then we can do some real scrutinizing and maybe choose THE ONE! I think I KNOW which one THE ONE is, but Im not saying until this weekend is over.. :-)

Thennnnn, whenever we are not dress shopping, our wheels are going to start turning to come u pwith Save-the-Dates and Invitations! We are hoping to come up with a few samples this weekend so that I can take them home to show Liam.. Once we both agree on a final decision, we can let the invitation-making begin! Im really nervous about this bc I have some neat ideas in my head.. Just not sure if I can actually replicate them in real life, since Im pretty bad at stuff like this.. I really want to DIY though, so I am reading lots and searching for ideas.. We'll see!! Oh, we still need to decide on colors, preferably before the arts & crafts stuff begins :-)

Ohhhh, wedding planning... :-) Less than 300 days until we get hitched - I cannot WAIT!! :-)

Updated update!

Wedding colors have CHANGED! Suddenly, the colors I wrote about yesterday are NOT going to work and so.. back to the drawing board :-) Its okay, we're going to have fun with this one.. Lots of suggestions, and the bridesmaids dress we were looking at comes in several different colors, so we'll be fine! Woohooo!

Re: cleaning eat.. things are going well this week! I ate completely 100% clean on Monday and Tuesday, even in reasonable proportions.. That was great, Im really proud of myself for that! Yesterday was a little less clean as I was STARVING and my packed lunches and snacks just werent enough.. I broke down and bought a Power Bar Protein Bar, and then once at home I had a peanut butter sandwich for dinner, on regular whole wheat bread. I guess thats okay but Ive really enjoyed eating my homemade breads! Today's the same.. I ate Power Bar Protein Bar but otherwise, clean clean clean! I am eating bulgur wheat with peanut butter right now, ooh tasty. I havent planned dinner yet (bad!) but I am eating this meal so late that I shouldnt be ravenous while Im planning/shopping/preparing for dinner, so it should be good! I really want to do this, so I need to stay motivated and keep my eye on the prize!! What prize? Skinny pants, a bikini in Aruba, and man healthy years to enjoy the people and experiences that I love!! (Just to name a few....!)

Until next time when I am more organized......!!

Wedding dress shopping!

So, we're getting into the details.. Ive been researching photographers (thanks for the suggestions, everyone! Keep 'em coming too, as we're still pouring over samples and trying to make a decision!) We've chosen colors (magenta/fuschia, with bright oranges and yellows for accent colors!) and now Im working on my wedding dress. I went shopping for the first time this past Saturday, at David's Bridal in Albany.

I met up with Mom #2, aka my New York Mom, aka Michele! We walked in and got right to work. A woman from JCPenney set us up with registry stuff and free gifts, as well as an entry into a drawing they were having. (I ended up WINNING, by the way, so I will be receiving a $100 gift card to JCPenney, wahoo!!) Then, I pulled out my list of Favorites from the David's Bridal website. Our consultant, Carrie, pulled a few off the racks and got me settled into my fitting room. Luckily, it was in a corner where we had some privacy and plenty of mirror space to check out the dresses!

I could go into all of the dress-trying-on details, but the most important information is that I narrowed my choices down to TWO options at David's Bridal! If you look at their website (www.davidsbridal.com) and search by Style#, check out V9458 and T9309. These were my absolute favorites and I really love both of them.. I left there thinking to myself that 9309 might squeak by as my #1 favorite, but after a few days, Im actually leaning more toward 9458. Itll be fun to try on some more dresses and see what comes of that! Im really excited because once I start working on my dress, then I can move on to the bridesmaids dresses and more of the nitty-gritty details.. the fun stuff! Woo! This is getting interesting... :-)

Who knows, itll probably include some updates about the gym and running and working out, only because those are a few of my other obsessions.
